OPEN AUDITIONS for the 4th annual Bridge PHL Theatre Festival will be held
MONDAY, AUGUST 5TH & TUESDAY AUGUST 6TH
FROM 5:30-8:30 PM

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the scripts.
Please bring a copy of your headshot and resume with you,
and please fill out and submit the audition form below!
All actors must be available for The Bridge PHL Theatre Festival dates: Thursday November 7th through Sunday November 10th, as well as for a tech rehearsal between Monday November 4th and Wednesday November 6th.
November Performance Venue: The Rotunda, 4014 Walnut Street, Philadelphia.
Each play is 15 minutes or less, and rehearsal schedules will be set by each play’s individual director.
Last year’s Bridge PHL Festival included more than 60 artists, and this year will be equally large, so there
is unfortunately no pay, however actors will be provided professional photos and video of their
performances at the festival, and food is provided for our artists at all tech rehearsals and performances.

BREAKDOWN OF AVAILABLE ROLES
“Just for the Weekend” written by Christine Emmert
*Woman 1*: A woman who has been imprisoned for a very long time. A poet.
Woman of any ethnicity, age 30’s – 60’s
*Women 2*: A woman who is a new prisoner and who intends to be there just for the weekend.
Woman of any ethnicity, age 20’s – 30’s
“It’s Just Not Right” written and directed by Indiya Stephenson
*Octavia*: 16 years old. The main character. She goes through the ringer trying to get through school while being bullied, it is not easy to focus. But she does the best she can, and then there is a change.
African American young woman, age teens to early 20's
*Tamar*: 15 years old. The best friend. She is always there for Octavia and will do anything to protect her.
African American young woman, age teens to early 20's
*Crystal*: 30 years old. Octavia's mom. She is understanding but she will not take Octavia leaving school without her knowing and trying to manage working. She gets worried.
African American woman, late 20's - early 40's
*Charity*: 16 years old. The mean girl. She spends all her time picking on and bullying Octavia, and her sisters back her up. But she never expects Octavia to stand up to her.

*Natalie & Sarah*: 14 years old. Charity's sisters. They are just big instigators.

*Shay Brenton*: 18 years old. She is liked by Trey and bullied by Carolina.

*Sunshine Stanton*: 18 years old. Shay's best friend since they were babies.

Understudy Role. Cisgendered black woman, age mid to late 20's. Actress must be comfortable with a New Orleans dialect.

Klarrisa Jennings “ANCHOR” - a cheeky and handsome news anchor, Black,
20s. (Based on a hybrid of Peter Jennings and Clarrisa Explains it
All.)
Judge Obatala- a celestial being dipped in the richest midnight of
chocolate skin, draped in a white robe. The purest and wisest of all
Orishas. The keeper and giver of justice.
Comfort J. Powell - 24, a dreamer and heroine addict caught in a
nightmare of gimmicks and hustles.
"White Script" written and directed by Gabrielle Corsaro
Rebecca - She doesn't at first understand why what she said was so wrong and resents being made to feel guilty, until she sews some memories back together from a different perspective.

Anna - She is listening more, and self-reflecting more, which is at first paralyzing and is then empowering.
